Everest Horizontal

Everest Horizontal, owned by Tim Kent, came to Pierside Boatworks to prepare for her journey in the Around Alone 2002 race.

Pierside Boatworks installed the bow sprit down haul, cut out 8" of the bow, laminated G10 block into hull, and then filled and faired the repair. We installed carbon fiber mast head reinforcements and assisted in the electronics modifications and upgrades.

Tim Kent also was required to prove the self righting ability of Everest Horizontal. A sling was placed around the keel bulb and a crane pulled to the boat into an inverted position. After about 2 1/2 hours Tim righted the boat by filling the ballast tanks.
